Species characteristics :

Stiliger ornatus is characterized by its pale greenish-orange body, and by the orange and black bands on the cerata. The cerata are basally of the same colour as the body, followed by an orange band, then a broad black (in some specimens black and blue) medial band, then again an orange band, the outmost tip is black

The rhinophores are black with a dorsal pale orange stripe, fading into black towards the tip.
