This species has been observed on Madagascar Island

Abundance : Seldom if ever on the fore reef zone
Species characteristics : Translucent white with numerous rounded purple spots covering the dorsum
Marginal band opaque white with orange blotches
The rhinophore club, distal quarter of the gill, tubercles, and the edge of the foot are a deep purple.

The 9-11 gills are arranged in a ring and held upright in a tulip-shaped bell.
This species looks like Mexichromis festiva, M. mariei and M. multituberculata (Katalexis) but there is somes externals differences
- M. mariei have a continuous marginal orange band
- M. festiva from
New South Wales and Lord Howe Island,
have only a few purple tubercles on notum
- M. multituberculata (katalexis) is covered with single and compound tipped tubercles
