This species looks like S. bicolor and S. cf. bicolor but :
- In S. bicolor, a vivid orange spot, or complete (most often), or incomplete narrow orange ring is present subapically on each cerata.
- In S. cf. bicolor, a large vivid orange ring is present at the base of each cerata.
