This species has been observed on Reunion, Mauritius, Mayotte and Madagascar Islands

Abundance : Seldom on the fore reef zone and the rocky coast


Species characteristics :

They have white speckling on the cerata wall, and a dark red or purple spot below the ceratal tip.

Presence of yellow oral tentacles and a yellow margin to the leading edge of the foot

The perfoliate rhinophore clubs range in colour from translucide white to dark brown

Presence of a pinkish-orange mlarking on head

    Similar species : See Favorinus cf. mirabilis for an animal with orange cerata, and also feeds on Hexabranchus eggs.

A colourless spécimen but always with the white speckling and the yellow to orange line down the midline of the head, between the rhinophores
