Behavior :

Bornellidae are specialized predators of hydroids

 


The Tethydidae (Rafinesque, 1815)


Caracterisez by :

A very extented or dilated oral veil fringed with tentacles,

Flattened or swollen cerata along the lateral edges of the mantle

Gills may be present on the inner face at the base of each cerata

Behavior :

Known to feed on plankton and small crustaceans

The Tritoniidae (Lamarck, 1809)


Caracterisez by :


All species of tritoniidae have fingerlike processes extending from the oral veil
The rhinophores each have a terminal digitiform projection with numerous branched subterminal excrescences.

 

Behavior :

The family Tritoniidae, feed exclusively on alcyonaceans, such as gorgonians and soft corals.
