Mayotte, Stylocheilus striatus swarming behavior, at Petite Terre, by Norbert Verneau

Norbert Verneau

Locality : Faré

Length : 20-40 mm

Depth : 2m

Date :7 January 2014

Remarks : Thousands and thousands os seaslugs (there were dozens of agrégas, fabulous! ) . Their speed was 10 cm per minute, may be less, it looked like rivers in places. Size of individuals is quite variable from 2 to 4 cm, but they are sometimes contracted or elongated difficult to be precise. Not for laying or mating. Smaller clusters joined the others, some were really impressive bunch !

It 's a photo of Stylocheilus striatus
