Remarks :
For some specialists this kind of specimens correponded to Thysanozoon nigropapillosum
Leslie Newman (2003) considered that this kind of specimens are incorrectly known as Thysanozoon nigropapillosus (Hyman, 1959) which was first described as black with white papillae and a yellow marginal band. So she called these specimens Thysanozoon sp1
Hyman description (1959) :
- It is black with a pale yellowish border.
- The dorsal surface is covered with low rounded black papillae tipped with white, hence to the naked eye the dorsal surface appears black dotted with white
Bibliographic data :
Pseudotentacles square
