- Pseudocerotoidea with elongate oval or almost circular form of the body, with a pair of infolded marginal tentacles, each bearing a cluster of eye-spots

- Only a single genus Pericelis

Ethymology :
      - Peri = around, celis = spot or stain ( a reference to eyes around the periphery)

Ventral characteristics :
      - They have a large, highly ruffled, central pharynx
      - Very small eyes are continuous around the body margin, cerebral eyes are in two elongate clusters and frontal eyes are also present
      - These flatworms resemble acotyleans, especially in the shape of the large ruffled pharynx and the presence of marginal eyes

Dorsal characteristics :
      - Species of Pericelis are relatively large in size, extremely soft and have a ruffled margin
      - The tentacle are well separated, simple, pointed folds of the anterior margin, with numerous small eyes.The tentacles may be difficult to distinguish from the ruffled margin
